Some Things have to be Believed to be Seen

Some things have to be believed to be seen.  At first, it seemed a backwards saying.  But now after understanding it in the context of my own life, it seems just right.  It is like faith.  I have been through so many ups and downs in my life, but knowing that God always has a way planned for me ahead of time, I always land on my feet, even if it doesn't seem that I ever will at the time.

For instance, a few years ago, I was laid off from my job.  That is hard enough to deal with, but my fiance had also lost his job previously.  So now here we were with the possibility of both of us being out of work at the same time.  But not so.  He got a job just as I was laid off, and because I had long service with my previous employer, I had a very good and long severance package.  My son is autistic and was going through some hard times at the time, and being laid off gave me the time to spend with him and get him back on track again without having to worry about money.

When I was ready to go back to work, I landed the first job I interviewed for and it was only a 10 minute commute away (versus the hour commute previously) and it was a $10,000 raise.

God is good.  Sometimes you just have to believe things before you can see them.
